I Sing The Body Electric is an experimental music theatre performance, exploring the relationships between music, drama, text and movement. Searching for a new methodology in how one approaches music theatre and opera, it follows our protagonist from birth to death, looking at what it means to live life to the fullest, celebrating life and the inevitability of death. Inspired by a Charles Bukowski poem and the little known play The Theatre of The Soul by Nikolai Evreinov, I Sing The Body Electric is musically improvised in collaboration with SNIM – Spontaneous Network for Improvised Music.
Developed in Vienna for its world premier in May 2014, I Sing The Body Electric travels this summer to London, to be part of the Tête à Tête Festival 2014.
